About Maddie
Maddie Birmingham is a dance educator from Carrollton, Texas. She grew up training at DCJ Dance and fell in love with competitive dance from a young age, performing in ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary works. She was an officer on her high school‘s modern dance company as well as the first Lieutenant of the Newman Smith Troyanns drill team. She fell in love with teaching at Collective Arts Center in Carrollton, where she taught students of all ages during her senior year of high school. She also interned at the Firehouse Theater in Farmers Branch, Texas, where she received musical theater, vocal, and acting training. Maddie is now a senior dance education major at UT Austin, where she has had the opportunity to train in ballet and modern and perform with renowned international choreographers. She competed at NDA college nationals as a member of the UT Dance Team her freshman year, and has enjoyed her time over the past two years as a Crowd Pleasers Dance staffer. She also recently received her accreditation as a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Maddie is so excited to be working as an administrative intern with Tarrytown Dance this season!
