Class Descriptions
Creative Movement: Ages 2.5-3
Designed for our youngest dancers, this class introduces movement through imaginative play and creative exploration. Dancers build coordination, musicality, and classroom skills while engaging with fun themes and props that keep them active and inspired throughout the 45-minute class.
Ballet/Tap Combo: Ages 3.5-4.5
This introductory combination class teaches the foundations of both ballet and tap. Dancers will learn basic ballet positions and terminology along with fundamental movements such as pliés, tendus, and passes. In tap, students will explore rhythm and coordination through steps like shuffles and shuffle ball changes.
Hip Hop: Ages 3+
A high-energy class that introduces dancers to the fundamentals of hip hop. Students will learn age-appropriate choreography featuring dynamic movements, musicality, and coordination in a fun and upbeat environment.
Ballet/Tap/Jazz: Ages 5-7
This class exposes dancers to three core styles: ballet, tap, and jazz. With a slightly faster pace than our beginner combo classes, dancers will continue building technique while developing versatility. Recommended for dancers with at least one year of experience or those starting dance at an older age.
Ballet : Ages 6+
Our classical ballet program focuses on proper technique, alignment, and artistry. Dancers train through structured barre and center work, progressing to more advanced combinations as they grow. Students demonstrating the required strength and technique may be invited to begin pointe work at the instructor’s discretion.
Tap: Ages 6+
Tap develops rhythm, timing, and musicality through percussive footwork. Dancers will learn a variety of steps and combinations while building coordination and clarity of sound.
Jazz: Ages 6+
A dynamic and expressive style that combines technique with performance quality. Classes include a warm-up, across-the-floor progressions, and center combinations, allowing dancers to develop strength, flexibility, and individual style.
Acrobatics: Ages 6+
This class blends dance with acrobatic technique, focusing on strength, flexibility, and control. Dancers will progress through skills such as walkovers, balances, and aerial-based movements in a safe and structured environment.
Lyrical/Contemporary: Ages 7+
This expressive class combines elements of ballet, jazz, and modern dance. Dancers will focus on storytelling, musical interpretation, and fluid movement while developing technique and emotional connection to the music.
Performance/Improv: Ages 9+
Designed to build confidence and artistry, this class focuses on performance quality and emotional expression. Dancers will explore improvisation techniques and learn how to connect movement to music in a meaningful and authentic way.
Drill Tech: Ages 9+
This class prepares dancers for middle school and high school drill teams. Dancers will refine jazz technique, improve memory and speed of learning choreography, and practice audition skills. Current drill team members can maintain and strengthen their technique, with private coaching available for officer auditions.
Pre-Pointe: Ages 9+
An introductory class for dancers preparing to go en pointe. Students must be enrolled in at least one additional ballet class per week. This class focuses on strengthening the feet, ankles, and core through targeted exercises at the barre. Placement is based on instructor approval and technical readiness.
Pointe: Ages 10+
For dancers with prior pointe experience, this class continues development of strength, alignment, and technique. Dancers will work at both the barre and center. Enrollment requires instructor approval and concurrent ballet training.
Ballroom: Ages 10+
An upbeat class introducing dancers to a variety of ballroom and Latin styles, such as cha-cha and jive. Dancers will build coordination, rhythm, and partner-style movement in a fun and engaging setting.
Strength & Conditioning: Ages 6+
An essential class focused on building strength, flexibility, and injury prevention. Dancers will improve overall conditioning while learning proper technique to support their training across all dance styles.
Mat: Ages 13+
This class focuses on core strength, flexibility, and body awareness through controlled, low-impact movements. Using bodyweight exercises on a mat, dancers will improve posture, balance, and muscular endurance while also promoting mindfulness and recovery.
