About

For ages 6-7

Students in this age group will participate in a pre-audition two days before the official audition. During this session, they will learn a dance combo that they’ll be performing at the audition. Video of the dance combo will be sent to parents that same night. During Auditions they will be performing the combination, plus some technique across the floor or in center.

***Pre-auditions are exclusively for ages 6–7.***

For ages 8+

On audition day, they will learn a combination that they’ll perform in front of the judges for scoring.

Dancers will also be asked to demonstrate technique in across-the-floor combos or center technique work that is age/skill appropriate.

Audition Workshops

The DF & DFD Audition Workshop will take place the week after the recital and is designed to help dancers feel prepared and confident for the Dance Force auditions the following week.

Classes will be led by our teachers and will primarily focus on jazz, lyrical/contemporary, and hip hop combo learning. Dancers ages 6-14+ are encouraged to attend and will be placed in age-appropriate groups. It is open to ALL dancers.

Throughout the workshop, dancers will practice picking up choreography quickly, receive constructive feedback on areas to improve, and gain a clearer understanding of what is expected at auditions in a supportive environment.
